Allocation Question -
If I allocate an array of objects to the size 1024*1024 - 1048576 my comp gets nice and laggy when loading, takes forever...i mean forever.
Simply half of that 512*512 - 262144 and my comp can get it done in the snap of a finger.
I know there is almost a 750,000 difference between the two.
But the time it takes to do 64*64, 128*128, 256*256, 512*512 is pretty much the same...snap of the finger.
Any higher and its like the time it takes begins to increase substantially instead of linear as it should....also unallocating any of these really big ones takes just about as much time as it took to allocate them.
Whats goin on here?

you must have noticed that:
4096 Bytes in each allocation unit or
size of autoexec.bat is 555 bytes,but it occupies 4096 bytes of disk space
so ,how can i get the size of a allocation unit?
by api?

I am running VB5 sp3.
I've built an OCX and use it in my project.
It's loaded and the index is set to 0.
Throughout the program I load and unload the OCX, but the OCX doesn't release the memory it allocated. This is apparent by the windows message "Out of Memory"
