Time before you feel comfortable -

Hi,

I'm investigating a return to the MS programming world after years of absence, and I'm trying to gauge how much work and effort is ahead of me. My dev experience is all last gen. VB6, Access, SQL Server, etc.

Can you tell me, how long have you been programming in .NET, and how much do you think you know as a %?

Thankyou

I am making the transition from VB6 to VB .NET, finally. I actually bought VS .NET about a year or two ago, and didn't feel comfortable switching because I had just gotten comfortable with VB6. Anyway, I want to make the switch now, but one of my hesitations is that I have a skinni

Hey all. Hope I got the right forum. I've been using VB for years and feel pretty comfortable writing most any kind of app I need. So, I'm wondering if there is still any advantage or reason to start learning C# from the bottom. Would it be better just to stay with VB and l

While tyring to learn more about ADO, I have found many tutorials that use the ADO 2.5 reference and some use the ADO (Adoc) 6.0 activex control. Which is better or does it matter? Since I am not familiar with ADO and have used activex controls alot along with the Data control, I w

I've been looking for a good asp.net hosting company. I'm going to move a domain from unix/mysql/php to .net/IIS/MSSql. But I can't find any companies I feel comfortable with. I've found one but they make you pay annually. And you are guaranteed to get your money back if you want to

How do you guys feel about Java as a whole -

Advanced DDraw tutorials/references -
I'm fairly new to the implementations of DX, but with over 5 years of programming in VB I feel quite comfortable taking it to the next step -optimal code. I have fairly extension knowledge of GDI API, but it comes to a point when the CPU can only do so much. So I'd like advice on
